Talent in the Garden

I saw a girl dance in Galt Gardens. She moved with such grace,

I cried.

She was a performer at the Eighth Annual Citizens Walk About, sponsored by the South Region Self-Advocacy Network.  And if you did not see her dance, I am sad for you.  Because I cried.

I suppose I should talk about how all three levels of government were happily there and amply included.  Some even spoke good words of vision.

I did note the different media outlets in attendance.  Dory Rossiter, the Weather Presenter from CTV, is always a ray of sunshine, while never without a punch line.  And I noted she brought an inclusive message of how important it is that the media cover events such as the Citizens Walk About.

But I saw such talent in Galt Gardens, that I forgot everything else that was said.

I saw a Rapper rap his rhyme. I’d heard that rap before.  And I loved it just as much the second time.

While the artisans sold their crafts and wares, a lovely young woman sang praise in Galt Gardens.  Then the Beast stopped by from the Beauty and the Beast, and he wowed us with his passion.

And then she danced!

She brought tears to my eyes and I was mesmerized by her intermingling of music and movement.  And so, I sat there, in the warm fall sun, and I watched that girl dance in Galt Gardens.

I don’t know her name.  I’d never seen her before; but the deepness with which she moved through each note of her music, can only be expressed as pure love in motion.  And if you did not see her dance, I am sad for you.  Because I cried.
